Cultural and Leisure Resources
Loveland is central to a variety of urban and rural communities extending beyond Denver on the south to Cheyenne, WY on the north. Centerra and Greeley are a few miles to the east and regional medical services abound at both clinics and hospitals.
For those with cultural and athletic interests, universities and colleges offer many opportunities. “The Ranch” on the east side of I-25 offers a variety of popular events and concerts year around, as does the Lincoln Center near the Old Town center of Ft. Collins.
Visitors who enjoy fishing, moderate hiking or scenic drives may want to visit the Horsetooth Reservoir or Poudre Canyon, both to the west of Ft. Collins. The Poudre River meanders through the area to the edge of Greeley. Also, Lake Loveland has a beautiful beach with mountain views, open during the summer season.
Those seeking entertainment for children might choose the rather new Discovery Center on the near north section of Ft. Collins, and souvenir shoppers can browse through many “centers” and mall areas in each of the towns.
Those with an extra day in the region may enjoy visiting the Rocky Mountain National Park and the commercial area of the town of Estes Park less than an hour’s drive away. And of course don’t forget to sample one or two of the craft beers brewed in the region.
